MLA Style Bibliography

MLA stands for Modern Language Association and they created guidelines for citing sources in research papers.

  • A bibliography is normally the last page of a research papers and it is basically a compiled list of the materials that a student used to write his or her paper.

  • It is normally listed in alphabetical order.

  • There are special indentions before each source.

1. To cite a book using MLA:

Author's Last Name, First Name. Title. Place of Publication: Publisher's Name, Year

             Published.

Example: Saturn by Amy Margaret

Margaret, Amy. Saturn. New York: PowerKids Press, 2001.

2. To cite a website using MLA:

Name of Site. Date of Posting Revision (if any). Name of Organization publishing site. Date              you accessed site. <Electronic Address>.

Example: A article about a tiger from the website A-Z Animals.

               animals.com/animals/tiger/>.

I used the book Plagiarism! Plagiarism by Kathleen Fox as a guideline:

Fox, Kathleen. Plagiarism! Plagiarism! Madison, Wisconsin: UpstartBooks, 2010.
